InMind research company held a poll of the population of Ukraine with a view to study consumer preferences of Ukrainian people when buying personal hygiene products in February 2006.
The research showed that soap, tooth paste and skin care products are the most popular personal hygiene products in Ukraine. These are the exact products that 60% of the population of the country bought within recent 3 months.
Deodorants, shave products, face and hand creams constitute the second popular category of products, at least one of these products was bought by approximately every third citizen of the country.
The most exotic products for a domestic customer are make-up removers and various face packs, scrubs, lotions, body milk. These products were purchased by 6%-9% of the poll respondents. Only 10% citizens of the country do not buy personal hygiene products.
The most active consumers are young people (18-29 years) and grownups (30 -39 years). In whole they show high buying activity, they buy tooth pastes, shampoos, deodorants, shower gels, shave products and make-up removers more often than the other. Middle age people (40 - 49 years) buy hand creams more often than the other.
People over 50 (and over 60 to a greater extent) yield to the other groups in buying activity. The only category that this age group is as active in as the other groups is soap.
